Fulfilling the long cherished desire of Mar Louis Pazheparambil an Eng. Medium L.P.School was started, aiming solely at the upliftment of the people in Ernakulam in June 1920 attached to St.Marys Convent. The school expanded its upper primary Section and also high school section in 1934 with the tireless efforts of Sr.Kochuthresia. The English Medium classes commenced in 1962 taking into consideration the need for English medium instruction. The foundation stone for the plus two blocks was laid 13th February 2000. Now St.Marys Higher Secondary school has grown to a full pledged Plus Block accommodating 600 students with science commerce batches. It is a Govt. Aided Institution following state syllabus from 1st standard to 12th standard.
